Intensive English Program (IEP)
This program provides an opportunity for the students who live abroad to come to Auburn University at Montgomery to improve their English language proficiency. The program is also open to our local residents.
IEP Mission Statement: The Intensive English Program at Auburn University at Montgomery exists to serve the international community by providing exemplary English language training, using qualified professionals in courses specifically designed to better help international students master the English language and to enable them to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal lives.

Reading and Discussion
8:30 – 10 a.m. (Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
Grammar and Writing
10:15 – 11:45 a.m. (Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
Listening and Speaking
1 – 2:30 p.m. (Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
Courses are taught at five proficiency levels
Level 1 – Beginning
Level 2 – Low Intermediate
Level 3 – Intermediate
Level 4 – High Intermediate
Level 5 – Advanced
Once your proficiency is determined, an adviser will meet with you to help you select your courses. ESL classes are normally eight to 14 students. You may begin your work here at the start of any eight-week term. The program offers over 25 hours of language instruction per week.
